Inspiration Strikes

Once upon a time, back in the Stone Age, the early humans were in a pickle. They’d graduated from drawing on the walls of their caves to drawing on pieces of flat wood, and now they wanted to hang those pictures in their homes. Unfortunately, all they had to pound in the nails were rocks, which led to a lot of smashed fingers. “What if we strapped the rock to a long stick?” one genius suggested. And suddenly the hammer was invented! (Although the smashed fingers never really went away.)

Be the handiest person at your next costume party when you wear your exclusive Hammer Costume for Adults! The unisex outfit consists of a hood that slips on over your head and has an oval-shaped cutout for your face. The top is shaped like the head of a hammer, complete with a flat end and a clawed end, and is made of foam backed metallic silver fabric. A long “handle” made of the same silver material with a red and blue fabric “grip” hangs down the front and is backed with foam to help it keep its shape.

If I Had a Hammer

Remember that old saying that goes, “When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail”? Well, we’re not so sure about that. When we tested this costume, we didn’t start seeing nails everywhere. On the other hand, we felt an almost overwhelming urge to do home projects, and to stand with our hands on our hips admiring our work when we were finished. Sometimes we even said, “That’s not going anywhere!” after nailing something together. It’s a very strange phenomenon.
