Unfortunately, it isn’t always easy to get your way to the captain’s hat very quickly. Now, don’t get us wrong. The ability to slink away from the ship during shore leave is pretty amazing… and captains don’t often get to enjoy that given the whole ‘down with the ship’ mentality.Still, being the one issuing the orders sounds pretty great.
That’s why we’d like to tell you about the Deckhand Shuffle and the Captain Shanty! Turns out that all you have to do is challenge anyone in a captain’s hat to a musical competition and the winner claims the ship! It’s a little known rule that goes right along with the Pirate Code of Parlay. So, when you’re ready to claim the hat, make sure you’ve got your heel-clicking dance steps ready and know all the words to your favorite deckhand ditty.
