Apples have come a long way! Like, remember when you used to only be able to get Red Delicious apples at your local grocer? That was the worst. They practically taste like paper. We’d actually like to have a word with the person who decided to name those apples “Red Delicious.” Was it some kind of joke?
Well, the good news is that you can find a whole rainbow of apples in your local grocer’s produce section! From the gold-red Honeycrisp with tart overtones, to the bright green Granny Smith apple, to the ultra-sweet Fuji, you can find a flavor to suit any apple lover’s tastes! And do you know who you can thank for the obsession with apples? Johnny Appleseed! He was a simple gardener who loved apples, specifically the kind fo making cider, and he spent his later years trying to spread apples across the U.S.!
Our costume designers love the tale of Johnny Appleseed, so they tried to recreate the iconic character’s look when crafting this Boy’s Johnny Appleseed Costume! This costume starts with a plaid, flannel style shirt that has an attached vest. Of course, Johnny Appleseed was known for his humble appearance, so the vest has a tattered look. The pants have a matching, weathered style and also feature an elastic band for a comfortable fit. The included hat has foam backing and is shaped like a saucepan. Finally, the costume comes with a shoulder bag, which has a printed apple on the side, so your little one can carry tons of seeds on their journey to spread apples across the land!
